We're here to walk you through the steps from creating your Etsy wedding registry, to adding your items and of course...some fun examples of wedding gifts items to add to your registry! Check out all the "ins and outs" of Etsy Wedding Registries.
Before we get into how to create a registry on Etsy, let's go over what a wedding registry is and isn't. A wedding registry is a list of items that you'd like your friends and family to purchase you for your wedding. Most guests at your wedding will want to purchase you a gift to celebrate your wedding and your registry list helps them by providing a list of items that you'd like to have to start your married life together.
A wedding registry is not a list items that you're guaranteed to get for your wedding. Your friends and family are not required to purchase you a wedding gift and they certainly don't have to get something off of your registry list.
A wedding registry is merely a suggestion and helpful point in the right direction for those that want to purchase you a wedding gift.
First thing first, we should probably talk about why you'd want to create your wedding registry on Etsy in the first place. Registering for your wedding on Etsy is for the couple you wants to support small businesses throughout their wedding planning process and for the couple who is interested in unique, thoughtful, handmade items that you can't find anywhere else.
Here are my top 5 reasons to register for your wedding on Etsy...
1. Etsy Is Shopping Small. It's not secret that we love shopping small, as evidenced in this blog post about how to shop small for your wedding.
2. Unique Items. The wedding registry items that you'll find on Etsy you won't find anywhere else. From kitchen items to household gadgets, you
3. Supporting Handmade. If handmade and carefully crafted items is your thing, then there is no better place than Etsy. Etsy is full of artisans, crafts people who are selling their goods that are perfect for your wedding registry.
4. Huge Selection. Just like any big box store or chain, Etsy literally has everything you could need or wants. From travel accessories (for your honeymoon, of course!) to art to furniture and home decor items, you can find just about anything you'd need or want on Etsy.
5. Custom & Personalized Items. When your items are being handmade, the options for customizations and personalizations are endless. When you go to large retail stores and large box online retailers, there are limited things you can do to customize your item. Maybe you can add a monogram, but that's about it. Not with items on Etsy where the options to customized your gifts are limitless.
1. Log Into Your Etsy Account - Create One If You Don't Already Have An Account!
2. Go to Etsy.com/registry.
3. Click 'Create Wedding Registry' and Select Your Wedding Date.
4. Add Items To Your Gift Registry! (More on this in the next step below.)

After you've created your account (see above step for instructions), you'll need to add some gifts to your registry list. The first step is finding the items you want to add to your wedding registry...don't worry, we'll help you find some great items later in this post! Here's a quick tutorial on how to add items and gifts to your registry on Etsy...
1. On the item page, click the heart icon at the top right hand corner of the item image.
2. A pop-up will appear at the bottom of your screen, click 'Add To List' on the pop-up bar.
3. Select your 'Wedding Registry' from the list options! Done and done!

Being able to find customized items made to your exact needs is one of the best reasons to shop on Etsy for anything, but especially for your wedding. When is comes to your wedding planning, its all about personalization and making your wedding a unique experience to YOU. The same is true with your wedding registry.
But you might be wondering, how do I include a note to the Etsy shop on an item that I'd like personalized in my Etsy wedding registry list?
When you register for an item on Etsy, you can request the customizations that you'd like for your wedding gift.
For customized items or personalized gifts that require a note to the shop, you can do so on your registry! Here's how...
1. Find the item in your registry list.
2. Click '+ Add Note To The Shop' below the shop name.
3. Add your note and click 'Save'

Now that you've created your account, selected items and personalized those items, the next step is to make your registry "live" so that your guests, friends and family can find it and get you all those amazing wedding gifts you picked out!
How do I publish and share my Etsy registry? Here's how...
1. Click on the 'Share' button at the top of your registry page.
2. Confirm your wedding date and include your and your partner's names.
3. Choose or add your delivery address for gifts.
4. Be sure to check the checkbox to 'Make my registry findable on Etsy.' This means your friends and family will be able to find your registry through Etsy's registry search.
5. Once published, you'll be provided with a link and an html code for embedding on a website and a print cards option to be included in invitations.
6. Share your registry link with friends and family. You can post it on your wedding website or share with those that ask. The wedding etiquette is mixed on including your registry information on your wedding invitations or save the date announcements, so you'll have to make that decision yourself.

Now that you've set up your wedding registry, as promised we have some tips for what to put on your list. It's a little overwhelming and confusing when you can put anything and everything on your registry, we get it!
