I had some fun this afternoon sketching out a custom wedding garter design for a bride who sent me a piece of her grandmother's wedding dress. The heirloom wedding dress material is a delicate, sheer silk chiffon and there is a very intricate lace trim that has leaves and flowers. For a custom wedding garter like this with the vintage material, it is best go use the lace trim. She wanted to add a little bit of purple into her garter design to coordinate with their wedding colors, so I thought the corset tie in the back of the garter was the perfect touch.
