I just did the most fun thing with wedding garter photos on my @gartergirl Instagram! I went to a website (2016 Best Nine) that automatically finds the best nine photos on my Instagram account with the most likes for the entire year and puts the top liked photos into a nine photo grid. This is such a great way to see my entire year on Instagram all in one grid! It has been an amazing year for The Garter Girl on and off of Instagram. I've had a wonderful time meeting new collaborators and sharing images of garters that I'm working on for brides. I especially love when one of my brides will comment on my Instagram something like, "That's my garter!"
As I close out this year and get closer to 2017, I can't help but be reflective on all that this year has brought my little wedding garter business. I've participated in some incredible photo sessions, like this boho wedding inspiration featured on 100 Layer Cake, and hosted a few photo styling sessions of my own, including this DIY floral wedding garter featured over on Green Wedding Shoes.
I've had the honor of hand makiing some of the most incredible wedding garters for brides all over the world. Many of the garters have been so stunning made with new and vintage fabrics and heirloom wedding dresses – even I can't believe it myself! It is such an honor to work with these brides and help them to creative new memories and family wedding traditions.
Also, this year, I custom designed a capsule garter collection with the ultimate wedding blog, Wedding Chicks, of three truly stunning wedding garters. I shared wedding heirloom advice for Brides.com not once, but twice! Lastly, I launched my first-ever small business blogging workshop. Wow!

This is my lovely wedding garter style from a photo session with the ultimate gift designer, Jamie at Marigold & Grey. I'm so thankful for this partnership with Jamie, not only because of these wedding morning images, and her incredible friendship, but because I was able to host my first small business blogging workshop at her beautiful new studio.

This was from an impromptu photo session at my house with Anna from Red October Photography. She came over and we had some fun playing around with wedding garters and lots of sweet props, like these macarons from Olivia Macaron in Georgetown, DC.

This is my besties ombre wedding garter set for a bridal party. This garter set includes one for the bride and one for each of her bridesmaids. In this photo, the set is shown in pink, but when you order the besties garter set, the bride will get to choose the ombre color. This year, I've done the besties garter set in pink, of course, but also in ombre purple and ombre something blue, and each time it turns out beautifully.

This bright orange floral wedding garter was from the same a flower bridal garter photo session in the photo above. I love this flower garter so much, but mostly because of those stunning something blue suede Manolo Blahnik shoes!

This photo features elegant pearls, a little bit of bubbly and my classy wedding garter set. What is not to love?! This was a photograph that I took on my own using my classy garter along with a few props that I had at home, including this stunning gold wedding invitation suite and the hand lettered "dress it up" sign.

Last but not least is this real wedding garter that I made for a friend! This champagne and light peach wedding garter was custom made for a beautiful bride and her wedding was featured in Martha Stewart Weddings Magazine.

Wow! These images are gorgeous and I have loved re-living them! What a year for The Garter Girl! These are the top nine photos with the most "likes" out of a total of 62,547 "likes" on 663 photos in 2016.
This year has been amazing for The Garter Girl and I'm looking forward to so many more! I already have many new projects and wedding garter styles up my sleeve for 2017, so stay tuned!
