cyber week wedding planning tips

'Tis the season for shopping. From Black Friday to Small Business Saturday to Cyber Monday to Giving Tuesday, there are deals to be had all over the Internet and in stores during this Cyber Week shopping season.

Your wedding is no exception to the Cyber Week shopping. Just because most people are shopping for the holidays during this time, don't forget that you can get some amazing deals on your wedding too. From wedding dresses, bridal accessories and even deals on services like photography or wedding planning, many businesses are offering cyber week deals to engaged couples.

I wanted to give you a little bit of information on how we are handling Cyber Week at The Garter Girl, plus a few tips for how to take advantage of these seasonal deals when it comes to your wedding. (You know I can't do a blog post without giving you lots of wedding planning tips and advice.)

Black Friday & Cyber Monday

The Garter Girl's big sale comes once per year during the summer. From June to September, we'll have a huge sale on all of our wedding garter heirlooms. It is always amazing with incredible deals to be had on wedding heirlooms and accessories. But, because we do the super summer sale, we don't have a sale during Cyber Week.

If you can't wait for our summer sale, or are in the mode for a discount on your wedding, be sure to check out our Just Say Yes collection of garter styles. This collection available all year long. It's priced to love and ready-to-ship.

Garters in the Just Say Yes collection are priced about 30-40% less than our custom garter heirlooms and the designer garters in our collection.

We can offer this incredible discount in the Just Say Yes collection, because these garter styles are pre-designed and pre-made. This collection is perfect for last minute weddings, bridal shower presents and, of course, brides looking for a great price on their wedding accessory.

The Just Say Yes garter collection is the same The Garter Girl that you know and love, but priced a little bit lower for you!

Small Business Saturday

If you are planning a wedding, you are shopping small! You don't have to work to hard to shop small when it comes to your wedding, so you can rest easy during Small Business Saturday.

For me, the best part of working in the wedding industry is that virtually all businesses are small and/or local businesses, just like The Garter Girl. Bridal dress shops are a small businesses and so are many of the wedding dress and accessory designers that they carry.

Wedding photographers, planners and videographers are all small businesses. Most rental companies and caterers are small, local businesses who employ lots of folks in the area where you are having your wedding. Most invitation designers are small business owners. Wedding blogs and influences are small business owners.

The wedding world is an industry, but it's mostly comprised of small and local businesses. If shopping small is important to you, then planning your wedding will feel really good!

Giving Tuesday

There are so many amazing charities out there. It is really incredible and heartwarming. There are two charities that we actively support here at The Garter Girl: Wish Upon A Wedding and The Confetti Foundation.

Wish Upon A Wedding grants weddings and vow renewals to couples facing serious illness or a life-altering circumstance. I hand make a wedding garter for all of the Wish Upon A Wedding brides.

I also sit on the board of The Confetti Foundation who donates birthdays in a box and throws parties for children who are hospitalized. You can help kids who are stuck in the hospital by donating a birthday party right here.

Cyber Week Wedding Advice

If you are looking for a deal for your wedding and you want to take advantage of the Cyber Week madness for your wedding, you are in luck because there are deals to be had this time of year.

Yes, many of the deals are focused on holiday presents, but, trust me, there are wedding discounts to be found during Cyber Week. You just need to know where to look.

Here are a few tips for making the most of Cyber Week for your wedding to make sure that you get the best possible price for your wedding:

  • Sign Up For Email Newsletters - Most businesses an email list of some sort. If you know you want something or your are still thinking, be sure to get on the email list of any wedding business that you are interested in. They will typically email their Cyber Week discounts to their email list first. You can always unsubscribe. It is better to sign up and then unsubscribe than not sign up and miss out.
  • Check Social Media - Check the social media accounts of the wedding vendors that you are working with already and those that you think you might want to work with. They will typically post about any sales or discounts on their social media, like Instagram and Facebook.
  • Shop Online With Etsy - There is no better place to shop small online than Etsy, which specializes in handmade items. Be sure to check Etsy out all Cyber Week long, because their sellers will be having some great sales on bridal accessories like veils, jewelry, invitations, digital downloads and so much more.
  • Ask Your Vendors - If you've booked a vendor already, and they are having a Cyber Week sale on something that you've already purchased, be sure to ask them about it. They might honor the discount. They might not too, so read the fine print and be prepared that they might say no.
  • Go For The Extras - Cyber Week shopping for your wedding is good for all the little extras. You might not be able to get a discount on services like photography or a wedding planner, but you might be able to find a deal on the extras like an album or on an amazing pair of shoes you've had your eye on.
  • Think About More Than The Wedding Day - There is so much more to a wedding than just the wedding day. You'll have your rehearsal dinner, bridal shower, bachelorette and tons of engagement parties. Oh, and then there is also the wedding morning and day-after brunch. Shop for all of the wedding extra events during Cyber Week.
  • Gifts Galore - I know this time of year you are thinking about holiday gifting, but you will also have lots of gifts to give when it comes to your wedding. Look during Cyber week for gifts for your bridesmaids, mother of the bride and your wedding vendors.
  • Honeymoon - Cyber Week is a great time to book some honeymoon options, or at least get a head start. Everything from travel to hotel stays to what to wear on your honeymoon can be found on discount during Cyber Week.

I hope that my Cyber Week tips help you during this hectic time of year! It can be a lot with just planning a wedding in general and then you add the holidays on top of it. Hang in there and try to enjoy this season! Much like your wedding day, it will be over before you know it!
