When it comes to creating custom wedding garter heirlooms using family materials, I love to see what types of clothing items I'll be sent next! I loved working with this bride to hand make a wedding garter using material from her Grandmother's floral silk and lace robe. I used the floral silk portion of material for the main portion of the garter. I used the lace trim from the Grandmother's robe to trim the wedding garter. It's a beautiful way to re-purpose something belonging to your family member.
