Garter Set: Lace & Pearls From Mom's Wedding Dress

This custom wedding garter set is a beautiful example of how meaningful family heirlooms can be incorporated into a bride’s wedding day. Made with ivory floral lace and pearls from the bride’s mother’s wedding dress sleeve, this personalized garter carries a little piece of family history with it.

The main wedding garter features delicate ivory floral lace, giving it a soft, romantic look. The pearl detailing of the floral lace adds another classic bridal touch to this custom wedding heirloom. Repurposing the mother's wedding dress sleeve into a bridal garter allows the bride to carry a piece of her mom with her down the wedding aisle. 

On the inside of the bridal garter, I hand embroidered the bride and groom’s initials and wedding date in dusty blue thread for a special personalized detail. A dusty blue bow adds a lovely finishing touch and a subtle pop of color for the bride’s something blue wedding accessory.

The matching tossing garter is made with classic ivory satin and a coordinating dusty blue bow. The simple, elegant design complements the main garter beautifully while carrying the same touch of blue through the set.

I love that this custom wedding garter set brings together something old and something blue in such a personal way. The pearls from the bride’s mother’s wedding dress make this garter a meaningful family heirloom, while the hand embroidery and dusty blue bow make it uniquely hers.
