You know I love making custom wedding garters from the bride's mother's wedding dress and I'm excited to share one of these modern heirlooms with you today. It is always such an honor when the bride and her family entrust me with their heirloom materials, such as a wedding dress or a veil. Each piece is so unique and special and you can just feel the history and the memories in the fabric.
This lace and pearl custom wedding garter was made from the lace flowers that were all over her mother's wedding dress. She wanted a simple wedding garter design that was beautiful but wasn't too frilly. I was able to take the lace flowers off of her dress and apply the flowers to her garter. I add a few pearls in the middle of each of the flowers. Wow, it was a gorgeous garter heirloom that I know she and her family will love it forever!
