5 Wedding Fashion Trends

5 Wedding Fashion Trends

It is wedding inspiration time! With the start of the year, I thought it would be fun to give you a few trends that I see happening in wedding fashion this year, and I'm not just talking about stylish bridal garters! Brides and grooms are taking their wedding day style more seriously and putting thought and effort into their fashion choices from designer details, heirloom accessories and thoughtful accents.

It can be hard for trends to filter into weddings because of long time that most couples plan their wedding. Trends are also tough, because when couples are spending so much money on a wedding day, they tend to opt for classic details that they know they will love forever. They aren't always as quick to embrace something they see as trendy. However, there are five specific trends that I think will walk down the wedding ceremony aisle this year.

Here are the top five wedding fashion trends of 2017…

Wedding Dresses With Texture

The bridal fashion week runways in the fall and in the spring were showing wedding dresses with lots (and lots!) of texture. Texture on a wedding dress can be elaborate all-over lace details, floating flowers, exquisite sparkles and jewels. I can't get enough of wedding dresses with lots of delicate details and I look forward to seeing all the texture walk down the wedding ceremony aisles this year!

Bridal Bouquets With Greenery

Pantone announced that greenery is the color of the year for 2017. It can take time for color trends to impact weddings because of the long wedding planing periods and the fact that many couples opt for classic details instead of trends for their wedding. But, greenery is definitely a trend that we will see go down the aisle this year and it will be in the form of bridal bouquets. Green is not a trendy color and thus more and more brides are opting for lush bridal bouquets with pops of colors and lots of greenery with all shapes and textures.

Shades of Neutral Bridesmaids

Often thought to compete with the bride's dress in white, more and more bridesmaids are wearing shades of neutral for their dresses. Neutral bridesmaid dresses can be mismatched styles, a light color with all over sparkles, or long and short, but one thing will be on trend this year and that is bridesmaid dresses in neutral shades including gray, lavender, blush, peach and tan.

Gold Everything

Gold lace wedding dress, gold calligraphy lettering, gold bridesmaid dresses and gold everything! From all-gold wedding cakes to macrons with gold flecks, to statement earrings and sparkle wedding shoes, gold is having a moment in weddings and this trend will continue this year. Gold is a wedding neutral color and can be paired with just about any cold like navy, blush, black, and green. From dripping in solid gold to little bits of shine, gold details are popping up in weddings and in bridal style all over, even gold lace wedding garters!

The Well Dressed Man

Th well dress groom wedding trend has been trending for a few years now, but I don't see it ending anytime soon! The groom has stepped up his wedding day style game and this will continue this year, for sure. Grooms are skipping the rented, ill fitting tux and going for a custom tailored suit and are exploring their own sense of wedding day fashion. From thoughtful cuff links, colored jackets, tuxes with texture, crisp ties and colorful socks, the grooms are having their moment and a well dresses groom will continue to be a trend.
