The Power of Pinterest

The Power of Pinterest

It took me a few weeks to figure it out, but I finally did. They were finding me on Pinterest!

For the past two months, I've received at least two, sometimes more, requests a week to make a Virginia Tech themed wedding garter. That's right, Go Hokies! They all referenced the same garter from my custom album, they all said they loved the polka dots, and they said that looked high and low for a cute, but not over the top, wedding garter in the Virginia Tech theme. This is very odd for me to get such specific requests repeatedly. I'm not your standard college themed wedding garter designer, but I have done a few in my day, including some Virginia Tech garters.

And, then it dawned on me. Pinterest. I put this wedding garter onto my Pinterest board "Customs I've Loved" 43 weeks ago. It has since been pinned and repinned liked, loved, commented on and and passed all around the internet. It has been passed around so much so that it eventually turned into brides contacting me to make a Virginia Tech themed garter.

Here are a few pictures of the recent Hokie garters that I've made. I've got a few more in the pipeline and I look forward to even more in the future!

So, here's to Pinterest for driving lots of garter lovers in search of the perfect college themed garter to my site. I thank you for allowing me to share my stylish garters with the world. And, for the other small businesses out there looking to share their products, get pinning! It works!
