the tradition is not dead. brides are still doing the wedding garter toss, i’m here to tell you! i had the pleasure of making two really amazing, and very different wedding garter sets recently.
[for the record, a “wedding garter set” includes two garters. one is a regular, main wedding garter that brides will wear and then save. it is usually thicker and a little more detailed. the second is a tossing garter, which is much smaller and the groom will use that one to take off and toss to his eagerly awaiting single friends.]
the first wedding garter set matches the bride’s wedding colors and her dress. it is ivory satin with a hot pink satin stripe and a thin ivory satin bow (2 inches wide). it is hand embroidered with the wedding date and the bride’s new name. it also includes a matching tossing garter that is hot pink satin with an ivory satin bow in the middle.
the second wedding garter set also matches the bride’s wedding theme. it is navy grosgrain with a lime green satin stripe and an ivory feathered satin stripe (1.5 inches wide). it is hand embroidered in ivory with the bride’s new last name. it also includes a matching tossing garter with the lime and ivory satin stripes…
happy wedding garter tossing! leave a comment, let me know what you think.
