As you know, I've been working in the wedding industry for over 18 years - yes 18 years! I started designing and hand making wedding garters at The Garter Girl in 2004. I'm proud to say that I have personally sewn and hand made every single wedding garter that I've ever sold.
With sewing all of those wedding heirlooms, including some of my personal favorite wedding garters made from bride's mother's wedding dresses, I've worked with thousands of brides and their moms and the friends and family who love them. One thing is true for all of my clients: They could use some help when it comes to wedding fashion.
Most of my brides love fashion, they want to look and feel amazing on on their wedding day in their dream wedding dress. It's just that the process to get there is overwhelming, stressful, confusing, frustrating and expensive. And that's just the wedding dress. I'm not even talking about all of the other outfits the bride needs for a wedding weekend and leading up to her wedding.
Everyone thinks it's all about the wedding dress, but there are so many more times throughout the bride's journey were she wants and deserves to feel like "the bride." From engagement party to rehearsal dinner to bridal shower(s) to the day of the wedding, the night and the day after - there's so much more to a bride's fashion wardrobe than the bridal dress.
The bridal dress is important, don't get me wrong. It's huge! It's just not the whole piece of the puzzle. I've found that with most of my brides so much attention is spend on finding the dream wedding dress that by the time they get around to shopping for an outfit for the rehearsal dinner or find the perfect pair of bridal shoes to wear in their wedding dress, they are stressed out, suffering from decision fatigue. And worse, they are over budget. Like way over budget with no idea where the money went!
Feeling special and comfortable is non-negotiable when you're the bride! But, how do you get there? How do you plan for all of the bridal outfits, not just the wedding dress?
